Armando,
I wanted to take a look at the application on your website, but unfortunately the site is currently not available.
In my case, I am still working with an accounting system that I originally developed about 30 years ago using Clipper. Every year I tell myself that it’s finally time to migrate it properly. At one point I converted it to FiveWin, but I never fully completed that transition.
At the moment, I have a working version based on mod_harbour, and since I am now using PHP, I have continued the implementation further in that direction.
It’s quite possible that our applications cover similar requirements, and perhaps there could be an opportunity to collaborate or exchange ideas. In essence, an accounting system is a relatively straightforward application — at least here, the functional scope is well defined.
Of course, a lot depends on the approach: whether it is designed to be multi-company and multi-user, or intended for a single user only.
Best regards
Otto
Mr. Otto:
Thanks you very much for your response. It's a new application and my client wants to use a tablet.
I've never developed for a tablet and i don't think tablets use windows
That's my problem.
With best regards
Why don’t you create a PWA? You can also run it locally on localhost.

i have a Lenovo 2in1 MIIX 310 10,1" (1.280 x 800) Tablet-PC an it work fine with Fivewin.
it have a Intel Atom Z8350, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, Windows 10 Home and a SD Card Slot where i have a 128 GB SD-Card.
the SD-Card Slot is a Problem for Windows 11 while i can´t find a working Driver for it
Mr. Otto:
I have no idea what it is, sorry
Mr. Jummy
I need to ask what type of tables my client has and what operating system it has.
Best regards
Armando,
Before thinking about tablet compatibility, I would first clarify a few points with your client:
Will this be a standalone solution, or does it need to integrate with your existing PC programs?
Is it intended for a single device, or potentially multiple devices?
Which operating system does the tablet use (Windows, Android, iPadOS)?
And very importantly: how much development effort are you and your client willing to invest?
If the tablet runs full Windows, your FiveWin application should work without major problems — perhaps with some UI adjustments for touch and screen size. I also remember that Mr. Rao has already done some groundwork in FiveWin regarding tablet support, such as detecting screen orientation and switching between portrait and landscape modes. That could be helpful if you stay within the Windows environment.
However, if it is an Android tablet or an iPad, then a Windows executable will not run directly. In that case, you would need either a remote desktop solution or consider a web-based approach.
From a long-term perspective, device-specific development can become limiting. A browser-based solution (for example a small web application or PWA) offers more flexibility and works across different devices and operating systems — but it also requires additional development effort compared to simply running an existing EXE on Windows.
In the end, the right decision depends on scope, integration requirements, and how much time and resources you are prepared to dedicate to the project.
Best regards
Otto
Mr. Otto and friends
Yes you are absolutely right.
To give you more context, the application is a point of sale located on a hill where there is no electricity.
For this reason, a laptop or tablet hs been considered because they use batteries, the tablet is more cheap.
I think I'll consideer Mr. Jimmy's suggestion
Best regards
Armando buenas tardes
