IrDA printing

Antonio, are you planning to add IrDA suppor for FWPPC?
I have a IrDA to parallel converter connected to a Epson LX300 printer,
it works fine my application written fon PalmOS and now i would like to port
it under PPC.

Si es por irda, utilizamos un puerto COM sin necesidad de configurar nada más en la PDA y si es por bluetooth instalas en la impresora el receptor bluetooth y se sincronizan ambos equipos. Despues se le asigna un puerto desde el propio Administrador bluetooth y a funcionar.
Sea la impresora que sea utilizo si es IRDA (puerto RS232) un cable especial que contiene un receptor final IRDA, y si es bluetooth instalamos un receptor bluetoorh con salida a cualquier impresora Paralelo. Ambos dispositivos no requieren configuración adicional se instalan como un cable normal y a funcionar. La única consideración a tener en cuenta es que ambos dispositivos deben ser alimentados de energía. En nuestro caso, ponteamos la placa base de la impresora STAR DP8340 para alimentar a traves de la propia salida de la impresora, el conector utilizado.
Los modelos de impresoras que utilizamos son generalmente de 2 tipos. Una impresora a 12v. Matricial que se instala en un vehículo (directamente a la bateria) y tanto puede ser serie como paralelo (adjunto imagen stardp8340) y una impresora portátil (con pilas) que la lleva el usuario enganchada al cinturon y es siempre con conexión IRDA. Yes, we are planning to provide support for it. Based on what we have seen, it may work as a standard comm port as Jose comments you. It may also work as a socket.
Probably we have to call a setup function to select comm or sockets mode.

Many thanks, but if is a COM port, how i can identify IrDA and Bluetooth ports, i tried to see Settings, but i don't found.
And then, when i have the connection, i have to respect some protocols to print, or i have just to send data to the printer?
However, i will wait for news.
