Question re pdf.prg / pdf.ch

Hi all
Are these self contained or do they depend upon other (possibly Windows specific) components? In other words would they be likely to run on Linux?
The other (Linux) options would seem to be libHaru or wait for GNUpdf.
Thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this.
