Otto,

First tests show, with great surprise, that 16 bits applications don't run on Windows Vista Beta 2.

Even clipper.exe does not work. The system error is: "NTVDM has stopped working".

It may be related with the fact that Vista uses PAE (Physical Address Extension): http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us ... ension.asp

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAE

With XP you can enable and disable PAE. I wonder if Vista will allow it too.

Hello Antonio,

Reading this I realize what you did for the Clipper community with the source-compatible Harbour.
Otherwise I would have been out of business.

Thanks again
Otto

Hello!

Vista's new boot loader "bootmgr" can be configured via "bcdedit.exe":
