Network requirements

My client is a dentist who wants to connect his PC with the secretary to share his appointments calender with her .
Can you tel how and what equiments should I buy to him (router...)?
what windows version should I use ?
How I will connect the EXE file between his PC and his secretary PC?

Ehab,

Yes, you need a router. Windows XP lan is ok for the job.

You may install the EXE in the doctor computer and access it from both computers.

You may review "network applications development" in FiveWin documentation.

if there are only 2 PC´s to connect, you can use a cross-wired cable (direct connection), for more pc´s you need a switch (pc´s are connected to the switch) and for additional internet access you need an internet-router. Normally the router has also switch capabilities, so you need either a switch or a router.
