Dear friends, I need to change the white background color of Windows 8.1 folders to something less bright. I just can't work with that light in my eyes (I get headache after 30 seconds... ). I already searched Google. It looks like MS has removed this setting.

Any help?

Yo aun no he actualizado de windows 8 a windows 8.1 pero en windows 8 si existen dichos temas

I still have not upgraded to windows windows 8 windows 8 8.1 but if there are such issues

Thank you. And what if I want to use the normal themes (ie. not high contrast ones) with a less bright folders background?

From the above link:

It colors the folder icons, not the folder background.

Anyway, I get something acceptable using the registry setting proposed by Antonio.
