Re: Supporting CHM files across a network share

Thanks Ruediger, that second code sample worked perfectly with the FiveWin/Harbour install I have. It's exactly what I was looking for!

And Kennedy thanks for your suggestion about using the GetEnv() function -- that also works great!

Re: Supporting CHM files across a network share

Hello Ruediger, Thanks so much for the code -- it looks like what I was thinking of doing. Can you tell me what the value is for the constant DLL_OSAPI? It was not defined in your code sample. Also, DllCall() is undefined, did you mean CallDll()? Also Stefan thanks very much for your reply. If I dec...

Supporting CHM files across a network share

Hello Everyone, We distribute a chm help file with our LAN-based FiveWin application. Nothing is installed on the workstations except a desktop launch icon. I know that Microsoft no longer allows chm help files to be opened across a network share for security reasons. From what I've read there are t...

Re: Centering Checkbox Bitmaps in txbrowse columns

Dear Daniel,

Yes I'm browsing an array, so that's the problem exactly. I will update my FiveWin version. It's past time I did that anyway.

Thank you!

Re: Centering Checkbox Bitmaps in txbrowse columns

Hello Daniel, I'm still on the October 2008 version. I have customized some of the TGet code for my needs so it always takes me time to re-apply my changes when I download a new FiveWin version. But I think it's time for me to upgrade again so I won't fall too far behind everyone else. The October 2...

Centering Checkbox Bitmaps in txbrowse columns

Hello Everyone, I see that the nDataBmpAlign variable of the TXBrwColumn class allows for only left or right justification, but not centering. And yet the Testxbr3.prg sample shows a checkbox bitmap being centered in the, "Married" column (this dialog is reached by selecting Window, RDD, S...

Thanks

Dear Antonio,

I've been doing some reading. I had no idea you are the father of Harbour. I've always had great admiration for you as the creator of FiveWin, but now I am truly amazed. I'm embarrassed I didn't know my Harbour history until now. Thanks for making it all possible :)

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

Thanks Enrico, I've always been a little confused about all that. I'm very happy with the Harbour/FiveWin combination. Bust just so I understand, xHarbour.org is a free spinoff project derived from the original Harbour, and xHarbour.com is an actual for profit company which is selling a commercial v...

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

Antonio / Rick, I also called Borland yesterday and also got the answer that they transferred their development tools some years ago to a company called Embarcadero Technologies. Their website (odly enough) is http://www.CodeGear.com, 800 523-7070. Looks like all the Dephi stuff is there now along w...

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

There is a "Contact Sales" page I found on the Borland site, and I filled out the form asking if they have any plans to offer a 32-bit version of Resource Workshop. I will also follow-up with a phone call tomorrow after the holiday. Maybe if they hear from two or three people asking for th...

Pelles C

Hey Antonio, Thanks again for suggesting Pelles C. It looks really well designed and good to have as a fallback for Workshop, but to use it right now would require too many changes to our resource file. Also, our application has about 100 dialogs, and the feature of Workshop which allows you to scro...

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

Antonio,

I installed PellesC, but when I open a resource (RC) file using File, Open in the PellesC IDE, it opens the RC file in a text editor, not recognizing it as a resource file. What is the proper way to open an RC file?

Thanks,

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

Thanks Antonio, I will give the resource editor in PellesC a try. Thanks Dutch - I will turn off the fingerscan software on my new Vaio. The workaround of having BRW associated with RC files works great, but I don't use the Fingerscan anyway, and it might be causing other problems I'm not aware of y...

Re: GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine - Solved

The GPF seems to be caused only by the Open File dialog in WorkShop in my situation. I made an association between RC files and the WorkShop.exe file so that double-clicking on an RC file in the Windows Explorer will automatically open WorkShop and pass it the RC file to open. It works fine now. I'v...

GPF In Borland Resource Workshop with New Machine

Hello Everyone, I just got a new Sony Vaio SR290 series laptop, and I got it with XP to increase my compatibility with the older software I run. But to my surprise I'm having a problem with Borland Resource Workshop. It will open, but immediately generates a GPF error when I click on File, Open Proj...
