Late to FiveTouch party!

Hello,

I am finding that using Android OS tablets seem to provide more flexibility that iOS. With that, I am ready to jump in head first!

I understand that we can develop application in Windows and port (move) to the Andoid tablet, correct?

Is it possible to connect to MS SQL from FiveTouch?

Is it possible to utilize tablet API to access resources on the tablet such as bar code scanner, RFID scanner and camera?

I am ready to get going on this.

What is my first step? Does FTDN cover FiveToch or do I need to purchase separately?

Thank you in advance for your support and assistance!

Dear Darrell,

> I understand that we can develop application in Windows and port (move) to the Andoid tablet, correct?

Yes

Please check if you can install and run FiveTouch on your Android Tablet:

https://github.com/FiveTechSoft/fivetou ... etouch.apk

Just click on the above url from the Android tablet. You may need to check on your tablet
to allow installations from unsecure sources.

> Is it possible to connect to MS SQL from FiveTouch?

Yes, using a web service. It is quite easy.

FiveTouch uses QT, so all QT features that are implemented in QT for Harbour are available from FiveTouch.

FiveTouch it is not included in FTDN. It has to be purchased separately. Please be aware that FiveTouch requires a
learning curve but with our support you may be able to do it :-)

Hi Antonio,

Great news!

Regarding QT, so if a press the RFID scan button on the tablet, the scanned data will transfer to the FiveTouch app?

What do I need to do to purchase FiveTouch? I would like to purchase immediately. I understand there is a developer version which is better, correct?

Darrell,

Please keep in mind that you may use a Windows tablet and thus avoid the learning curve of Android, QT, etc.

We have never tested it, so first step is to run FiveTouch on your Android tablet and then try it
